Description

Drug Interactions :

It should not be given in combination with penicillin because it causes poor absorption of penicillin
Oral administration of neomycin may decrease absorption of vitamin K.

Side Effects :

In rare cases, neomycin, when used orally, may cause nephrotoxicity

Withdrawal Period :

Meat: 2 days
Eggs: 2 days

Warning:

Do not use more than 5 consecutive days
Not given to ruminant animals

Preservation :

Store in a dry and dark place at a temperature not exceeding 25° C

Indications

Indications :

It is used in poultry to treat diseases caused by gram-negative bacteria such as E. coli, Salmonella, Haemophilus and Pseudomonas, and because it is not absorbed in the intestine, it is highly effective in cases of bacterial intestinal infections and bacterial diarrhea of origin in lambs and calves.

Contraindications :

Hypersensitivity to neomycin
Do not use in cases of kidney disease

Dosing & Usage

Usage :

Orally, after dissolving it with drinking water

Dosing :

Poultry: 40 g per 200 liters of drinking water for 3-5 days
Calves and lambs: 2 g per 50 kg live weight for 3-4 days
