Description
Pharmacological Effect:
Enrofloxacin belongs to the group of fluoroquinolone that acts as an antibacterial against mainly gram-negative microorganisms such as Coli, e-Coli, Hemophilus, Mycoplasma, Pasteurella and Salmonella.
Drug Interactions:
It is not recommended to add it to drinking water that contains mineral salts preparations.
Side Effects:
Allergic reactions.
Withdrawal Period :
Meat: 12 days.
Preservation :
Store in a dry and dark place at a temperature not exceeding 25° C.
Indications
Indications :
It is used to treat respiratory, digestive and urinary infections caused by bacteria sensitive to enrofloxacin, such as Campylobacter. E.coli, Hemophilus, Mycoplasma, Pasteurella and Salmonella in birds, calves, goats, sheep and pigs
Contraindications:
It should not be given in case of hypersensitivity to enrofloxacin or a member of the fluoroquinolone family. Not given to animals suffering from liver or kidney problems. It should not be given with tetracyclines, macrolides and telmicosin.
Dosing & Usage
Usage :
It is given orally after mixing it with drinking water.
Dosing :
Poultry: treatment, 100 ml / 400-300 liters of drinking water for 3-5 days.
Calves and lambs: 5 ml/150-75 kg live weight twice daily for 3-5 days.
Pigs, 100 ml / 600-200 liters of drinking water for 3-5 days.
Note: for ruminants, it is given only to small animals that do not have effective digestion (calves, sheep, goats)
